The revised and expanded second edition presents philosophy of conservation; discusses conventional problems and examines new ones; and describes practices for the examination and treatment of deteriorating library materials. Volume I is a commentary on the information available. Included is bibliographical material at the end of each chapter and subject and author indices. Volume II, a bibliography, serves as a guide to the literature of library conservation and other areas of conservation closely related to it.
