Energy-Efficient MAC Protocol for U-Agriculture Based on Link Quality

The sensor network application in the agricultural growth monitoring field is being tried by various methods. The biggest characteristics of the growth monitoring are that its data sensing cycle is very long, and if it is installed once, its position change almost doesn‘t occur, and it should be operated for a long period. Accordingly, the MAC Protocol satisfying these properties is necessary. The proposed MAC Protocol writes a node list of a transmission range, and uses minimum transmit power measured in case of transmit/receive by measuring minimum transmit power that can transmit/receive according to each node in the synchronization process. This research compares energy consumption of MAC and SMAC & PSMAC with network viability proposed through mathematical analysis and simulation experiments.
