Startup, Sleep, and Shutdown

Your ARTIK does a lot of work behind the scenes as it starts up. Your design may not need to use all of those facilities but before you start turning things off, you need to know what they are. Introducing new startup code of your own might be necessary if you are building something more ambitious as a project. Being able to spot a warning or error message during the startup is only possible if you are already comfortable with what happens by default. Read this chapter to learn about the startup message, the boot loader, and power management. It also covers sleep/wake cycles and shutdown issues.
