Implementation of model-based development tool and run-time engine for digital cockpit system

The vehicle digital cockpit system aims to provide driving information, diagnostic information, and convenience information of a vehicle to a driver in real time through digital display devices. The analog cockpit system is hard to change the layout due to its hardware-specific features. In contrast, the digital cockpit system can selectively provide various information suitable for the driving situation through dynamic layout using digital display devices. In this paper, we present a development tool for modeling the contents of a digital cockpit system using a model-based development methodology. We also present a runtime engine for executing the contents of a digital cockpit system in embedded systems. Finally, we describe the experimental results of the proposed development tool and run-time engine.
