Using one computer for teacher—pupil group work

In many countries public opinion holds the view that sensible use of computers in education is tied to a high number of available computers. While it is true that there are some ways of educational computer use that need many computers, there are also many ways of changing (and possibly improving) the learning process if only few computers are available. There are, however, many situations where the creative use of just one computer can help to improve learning. In this paper, we shall try to give a few examples of such situations, together with a first attempt to provide a general framework for identifying situations of this kind.
