To support scalable service chaining (SC) in Mobile Edge Cloud assisted 5G networks we adopt for the first time Hierarchical Random Graph (HRG) theory. HRG achieves optimal resource allocation in SC with significantly reduced computational complexity and increased energy efficiency.
