6.5.1 PARTNERSHIP FOR ORGANIZATIONAL EFFECTIVENESS

Organizational effectiveness can be improved in a multitude of ways, some more obvious than others. “Small changes can produce big results - but the areas of highest leverage are often the least obvious”, says Peter Senge, author of The Fifth Discipline. This paper describes a very successful program which inserted systems engineering paraprofessionals into an existing organization. While the addition of an individual to a team is a small change in the scheme of things, the program has turned out to be a high leverage change for our business. Benefits to the engineering organization's effectiveness go well beyond the initial expectations for the program.
