A fast parallel arit hmetic using a Cellular Autom at on (CA) environment is present ed. Th e Redundant Binary (RB) number representation, first studied for optical computing , is used in order t o perform a carr y-free parallel addition or algebraic sum of arbitrary large numbers in constant t ime.
