The mass spectrometry of some aromatic azides

Bromophenyl azides provide the only exceptions to the observation that nitrogen (N2) is eliminated from the molecular ions. Splitting out of HCN, C2H2 and (in the case of acyl or o-nitroaryl azides) CO are important processes.
