Piecewise PWM-sliding global control of a boost switching regulator by means of first-order Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy control

The locality and interpolation capabilities of a first-order Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy controller are used to synthesize and analytically design a mixed PWM and sliding-mode global nonlinear control for a boost switching regulator. The resulting fuzzy control scheme, of low-count rule base, provides both equalised small-signal responses for different steady-state operating points and assures a robust large-signal start-up process. Simulation results validating the design approach are included.
