Truss bridge joints are rigid connections by design or as a result of corrosion. Member stresses are different from values computed according to simplifying assumptions. Examples of stresses computed by two-dimensional and three-dimensional analysis are compared with field measured stresses. Also examined are the effects of damaged members.
