Facial structures of schatten p-Norms

In this note, we study the facial structure of the closed unit ball Bn of a unitarily invariant norm on n-by-n matrices In particular, we characterize all the extreme points of Bn Furthermore, if the unitarily invariant norm is indeed a Schatten p-norm. then all the proper closed faces of Bn will be described explicitly.
