Single antenna GPS information based aircraft attitude redundancy

The use of the Global Positioning System (GPS) as a primary source of information for aircraft position determination is becoming a common occurrence as the availability of receivers has increased and their costs have decreased. In addition to providing backup attitude information, GPS outputs may also be useful for fault detection of anomalous behavior in inertial systems. This paper reports on analysis of real time single antenna GPS flight data for the purpose of evaluating its utility for detecting faults in inertial attitude instruments.
