Compromiso de la glándula suprarrenal en el cáncer de riñón

Los sitios de metástasis más comunes son: pulmón 50 a 60%; hígado 30 a 40%; hueso 30 a 40%; sistema nervioso central (SNC) 5%. Las metástasis en la glándula adrenal son de baja frecuencia, generalmente asociada a otros focos metastásicos; según distintos autores, varía entre un 1.1% y 10% en la glándula ipsilateral al tumor, 0.7% en la contralateral y casi de excepción bilateral; la metástasis se considera sincrónica cuando se diagnostica hasta los 6 meses del diagnóstico del tumor renal, después de ese período se considera metacrónica. El hallazgo en autopsia es de un 6 a un 29%. La metástasis adrenal es mas frecuente asociada a metástasis en otros sitios que como unico foco.3, 4
