A Case Study on it Exploitation Management - Towards Developing a new IT Culture

Abstract The main findings of the case study are based on a semi-formal inquiry among 22 selected Slovenian IT and top managers working in six different sectors of economy: banking, civil engineering, industry, services, publishing and administration. The answers were classified into the following four discussion categories: a) top-management participation, b) IT management problems, c) possible measures for improvement and d) key success factors identified for future development. Overall results are discussed in relation with the required human skills, organisational measures, relevant business issues, and in comparison with the situation in the area of control technology.
