The reduction of noises in ECG signal using a frequency response masking based FIR filter

The electrocardiogram (ECG) signal is normally contaminated with noises generated by biological and environmental resources. This paper presents a way to remove the noises using the computational efficient linear phase FIR digital filters. The filter is developed based on the frequency response masking technique. The sparse coefficient vector in the filter makes it very attractive for a low cost and low power VLSI implementation.
