OLDER DRIVERS AND ADVANCED TRAVELER INFORMATION SYSTEMS
暂无分享,去创建一个
The purpose of this article is to facilitate the development of Advanced Traveler Information Systems (ATIS) for use by older drivers by (1) reviewing briefly what is known about the demographics, abilities, and needs of older drivers; (2) reviewing some recent studies that have compared ATIS use between older drivers and those under 65 years of age; and (3) discussing future research and design issues for the development of ATIS for older drivers. As adults grow older, visual, cognitive, and motor abilities begin to decline, leading to decreased mobility and well-being. Use of ATIS may be a way to maintaining mobility and well-being in the older driver population. However, before the potential of ATIS can be maximized for older drivers, several issues need further research.
