Pesticide Residues in Food

Man suffers vicariously from the effects of pesticides on other animal species, but is considerably more directly concerned with threats to the health of his offspring. In particular, he will not tolerate a danger to them from the food intended for their nurture. Any prospects of birth defects or brain or nerve damage to them from knowable sources is unacceptable to him, yet equally untenable to him is human hunger. So he finds himself at the same time appreciative of the marvellous feats of the food producers, those masters of the green revolution, and anxious about unknown contaminants in his own food supply.
