Incompressible mixtures of newtonian fluids

Abstract The constitutive equations are derived for an incompressible mixture of Newtonian fluids using an entropy production inequality; they involve the introduction of an arbitrary hydrostatic pressure. The derivation of Fick's Law of diffusion for an incompressible mixture of ideal fluids is presented together with an examination of helical flow, including the special cases of Poiseuille flow and Couette flow.
