Simplification of Real-time Wavelet Computations with Application in Robotics

This work deals with calculation of motion field (optical flow) in real time using wavelets. Depending on which standard algorithm is used, the execution time of the proposed algorithm is improved by between 10.41 and 53.36 per cent. Motion field can be used to measure distances and velocities of robots, objects and humans, which are useful in human-robot interactions, rehabilitation, biomechanics, etc. Further research should include wavelet noise generation for purposes of Gaussian noise replacement. It will allow more reliable and faster control of model prediction.
