A Tutorial on Network Gateways and Interworking of LANs and WANs

Wulf Bauedeld is a member of a central project management group supervising the network project Deutsches Forschungsnetz DFN. In a European context he serves in the international project management team in the OSI-based project COSINE which is pe r fo rmed within the EUREKA-framework and conducted by the European User Organisation RARE. After his degree in Physics he worked between 1973 and 1983 in the computer science department and computational center of the Hahn-Meitner-lnst i tut in Berlin and joined in 1979 for an 18-month sabbatical the department of computer sciences at the University of Texas in Austin. He received a doctoral degree in computer sciences from the Technische Universitiit Berlin with a dissertation on specification, verification and performance prediction of communication protocols.
