Comparative assessment of passive islanding detection techniques for microgrid

The increased requirement for clean, cost effective and uninterrupted electricity has led to the incorporation of microgrid including distributed generation (DG) units. One of the major issue with DG interconnection is islanding detection. This paper presents the comparative assessment report of islanding detection techniques on the basis of their non detection zone (NDZ) and detection time. A comprehensive table comparing the different available islanding detection methods is also presented.
