Experimenting on Dempster-Shafer's Theory of Evidence in Information Retrieval

This report describes a set of experiments investigating the use of DempsterSchafer's Theory of Evidence in Information Retrieval. Our experiments use various indexing and retrieval methods to exploit Dempster-Shafers theory and we outline the reasons for the success or failure of the di erent approaches taken.
