Object-Oriented Information Systems in the 21st Century

Object-oriented technology is increasingly being adopted as the basis for new information system implementations. Object and particularly, object-relational database systems will soon become the platforms of choice for new information systems, and the object/component technologies of CORBA, COM, and JavaBeans are becoming the basis for implementing large-scale distributed information systems. This talk will trace some of the early developments in information systems through current day technology, and based on current hardware, software, and business trends explore possible future directions and potential for object oriented information systems.
