An RF photonic frontend for multi-channel broadband communication payloads

An RF photonic frontend for multi-channel broadband communication payloads has been proposed to face high frequency satellites challenges demanding higher bandwidth and explosive data bytes. The proposed scheme features broadband, light weight, small size compared with conventional RF frontend in a pure microwave approach. Furthermore, we carry out proof-of-concept experiments and present performance results of the overall frontend, which verifies our assumptions.
