The control system comprises means (21) for generating a supercharging pressure setpoint, means (22) for converting this setpoint into a compression ratio setpoint for each of the turbochargers, this latter setpoint cooperating with a first regulator (23 ) to adjust the compression ratio of each of the turbochargers, this first regulator (23) cooperating with a second regulator (24) for adjusting the expansion ratio of each of the turbochargers as a function of a setpoint value (25) report trigger for each of these turbochargers, means for prepositioning the actuators of the control pressure control valves at the outlet of each of the two turbochargers, the two regulators (23, 24) cooperating with an arbitration unit (27) adapted to controlling an actuator for changing the pressure at the outlet of one of the turbochargers or at the outlet of the other turbocharger.
