Characterization of active inductors with modified determinant expansion analysis

Finding node admittances with a modified determinant expansion analysis that does not utilize nullators and norators is introduced in this paper. First, all dependent sources in a circuit are transformed to voltage controlled current sources. Second, the circuit determinant is recursively expanded using passive circuit elements. Third, the contributions of nested cross coupled sources (if any exist) are added. The dual of this method can also be used to extract node impedances of any circuit. A four-node active inductor is analyzed in this paper and results are compared with those obtained from Spice simulation to verify the effectiveness of the suggested method.
