Roosevelt parkside: affordable, passive solar housing for Sacramento, Ca

The design for the Roosevelt Parkside development is built around four general goals: Respect and enchance the urban context, serve the social needs of potential users, maximize energy conservation, provide affordable housing. Each of these goals generated a number of concepts which were incorporated into the design, in many cases reinforcing one another. The project design results in a mix of townhouses, apartments, condominiums and commercial space. The project is discussed in terms of social concepts, urban design concepts, energy concepts, affordability, and energy performance analysis.
