Unstructured grid Navier-Stokes solver for turbulent reacting flows with dynamic domains

This paper discusses recent developments to a three dimensional unstructured-grid Navier-Stokes code formulated for aeropropulsive applications. Earlier work involving inclusion of generalized gas-phase thermochemistry is reviewed. The focus of this paper will be on the latest improvements made to the code including dynamic domains with generalized multi-body motion, and multiple extensions based on domain decomposition using parallel architecture. Also discussed are inclusion of a two equation ke model with wall functions and hexagonal grid extensions,. Unit problem test cases are presented and comparisons are made with a well established structured Navier-Stokes solver. Sample problems described include helicopter plume/wake interactions, missile with lateral thruster, and submunitions dispense from missile cavity.
