High-Voltage Practicals

In high-voltage practicals, the students are given the opportunity to extend their theoretical knowledge obtained in the lectures by conducting experiments on their own. The experiments can be performed either in small groups of 3 to 6 participants under the guidance of a supervisor, or as joint experiments for a large number of participants. Although group experiments require a larger number of experimental setups, thereby imposing a limit on the voltage, they are to be preferred from the point of view of active participation by each member, since this is possible only in small groups. The idea of conducting experiments independently and in a responsible manner is particularly important with regard to the strict observation of safety and operational regulations, essential for the protection of personnel and equipment.
