Design on Waveguide Filter Based on Scattering Parameter

A method of designing a waveguide filter with scattering parameter is introduced in this paper,and then an example is presented.Firstly,the structure of a filter is analyzed,and then the ideal scattering parameter(S parameter) of coupling structure between resonators can be worked out with microwave network synthesis and the design theory of filter.Each of the coupling structures and resonances is simulated step by step with the software of high frequency structure simulation(HFSS),the final design is obtained through optimizing the whole filter.The simulation results agree well with the theoretical value.The design on a waveguide filter by using this method can improve the design efficency and shorten the product manufacturing iterations period.
