Embedded Domain Decomposition Approach for Analyzing Complex Antenna Structures

In this paper, we demonstrate the simulation of a complex antenna model by employing an embedded domain decomposition method. The basic shape of the problem is modeled by a background mesh, while the geometric details are discretized as a set of embedded meshes. With the benefits of the embedded meshes, the modification of one subdomain would hardly affect the discretization and matrix computation of another subdomain. As a consequence, the introduced method offers a high degree of flexibility in modeling and simulation of sophisticated devices, and facilitates moving/replacing/adding geometric components in a background problem straightforwardly.
