Minimum Apparent Power Control of Dynamic Voltage Restorer

Dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) is the most effective device for compensating voltage sags. Control method is a key technology. This paper proposes a new method named minimum apparent power control. It minimizes apparent power of DVR, reduces capacity and reactive power of DVR greatly, and also decreases the injecting voltages of DVR, thus reducing the cost. Furthermore, it has the advantages of less computation and simple control. Therefore it is a better multiple-performance control method. Detailed demonstrations for performances of the method are presented, and simulation results illustrate the validity of the demonstration.
