Reports submitted on work in terrestrial magnetism and atmospheric electricity

In regard to the auroral work which we are doing at the Alaska Agricultural College and School of Mines with the generous support of the Rockefeller Foundation, progress has been made in what seems a satisfactory manner. Starting about the middle of last August two transmitters and receivers were made here to be used on the 80-meter amateur band. This band was chosen because it was desired to use radio phone as well as code. One of these units was placed in a carrying-case to be used as a portable station; the other, a 7 1/2-watt transmitter with a receiver, was installed permanently in the writer's home here on the campus. Next an operator was trained and the licenses were obtained for the two stations.
