Simultaneous transmission system for two video signals

A simultaneous transmission system for two video signals has been developed, which can transmit two conventional TV signals through a single analog channel. This system may be used when the number of transmission channels is fewer than the number of video signals needed, channel costs, such as satellite links are heavy. The authors developed the system using an analog bandwidth compression technique. The system divides the two dimensional spatial frequency component of the signal to be transmitted into several sub-bands, cuts out the high diagonal component, and transmits the sub-bands by time division multiplex. The encoded signal conforms to the NTSC signal format. >
