Power and efficiency characteristics of engine with mechanical losses

Considering various mechanical losses in real work process of diesel,a thermodynamic model of heat circulation in finite time was set up,and the influential law of mechanical power losses on cycle parameters was discussed. The mathematic relationship among output power of diesel,thermal efficiency performance and cycle parameters was derived to analyze their influential law theoretically after considering various mechanical losses. And influential law of cycle parameters on thermal efficiency and output power was analyzed after considering mechanical losses with an example of real work process of diesel. The result obtained is in accordance with the real work process of diesel,and the study provides a reference for the design of diesel.
