Interactive Visualization of Jaw Motion Based on Tangible Augmented Reality

Realizing interactive simulation and visualization of the human jaw motion by use of computer graphics is significantly beneficial to the dentistry.Using the physical teeth model and marker cards based on visual tracking technique, a tangible augmented interface for this visualization system was developed.Various interaction tasks and techniques were merged into a uniform interface paradigm.Compared with the traditional interface, this innovative interface seamlessly integrated physical space with virtual space together.A primary informal evaluation indicates that dentists can effectively exploit their existing skills, and interact with virtual objects intuitively and naturally.
