An experimental study of a parametric end-fire array

Abstract This paper contains the results of an experimental investigation of a parametric end-fire array which is produced by the non-linear interaction of two coincident acoustic waves underwater. Low-intensity measurements of far-field difference-frequency pressures and beamwidths for different interacting wave geometries are reported. Axial-pressure measurements are recorded. Angular displacement of the difference-frequency beam by electronic methods has also been demonstrated.
