Low-frequency Shielding Effectiveness of Multi-layered Device Using Cu and PET Film

This paper describes the low-frequency shielding effectiveness (SE) of a multi-layered device using Cu and PET film. The SE of the multi-layered device is estimated by an electromagnetic field simulator and by experiment. The pulse waveform method is used for the analysis frequency range from 100 kHz to 1 GHz. We found that the SE of Cu/Cu/Cu is nearly equal to that of Cu/PET/Cu. It is confirmed that the SE of Cu/PET/Cu is also determined by an impedance mismatch at the boundary surface between Cu and PET film in the low-frequency region.
