Pattern effect suppression technique of synchronized gain-clamping light injection for downstream SOA in optically-amplified PON systems

Simple technique that combines synchronized-GC light injection with complementary signal pattern is proposed to completely suppress the pattern effect and greatly improve the extinction ratio in the downstream SOA of an optically-amplified PON system.
