Hydrological watersheds model researching based on digital elevation model

Spatial heterogeneity of physiogeographical components leads to spatial and temporal changes of hydrological processing in watershed. Watershed digital elevation model used to build digital drainage network model and extraction of drainage characteristics is an important prerequisite of distributed hydrological processing simulation. This paper presents a digital drainage network model of distributed hydrological process-oriented simulation and drainage characteristics extraction, which is mainly including recognition and processing of depression in digital elevation models, setting of the flow direction in flat part, flow accumulation, raster river network extraction, classification of river network and sub-basin watershed division. A improved method is presented here about removing the depressions of a Digital Elevation Model.
