3D DIGITAL WATERMARKING: ISSUES AND CHALLENGES

Digital watermarking technique ensured that a digital watermark is embedded into digital data and can only be detected or extracted by an authorized person. The watermark is hidden in the host data, in such a way that it is inseparable from the data because of it’s resistant to many operations which at the same time do not degrade the host. Three-dimensional (3D) objects are complex digital file that are difficult to handle compares to other multimedia data files, like video, audio or two-dimensional images. An object can be represented on a 3D grid by a set of facets representing its boundary surface or by a set of mathematical surfaces. Different sources of 3D data do not produce the same representation; these pose a major problem with handling 3D data. Furthermore different applications do not consider the same presentation of from different sources by different format. Moreover, Changing from one representation to another is quite complex and often constitute open problems. As a result, 3D digital watermarking techniques will face these challenges and various issues need to be addressed before any 3D digital watermarking techniques will be successful. This paper review the techniques, issues and challenges of 3D digital watermarking in order to figure out the success of 3D watermarking techniques with high robustness against any form of attacks
