A cost-effective WDM-PON using a multiple contact Fabry-Pérot laser diode

We demonstrated a WDM-PON using a multiple contact Fabry-Pérot laser diode without seed light. The electrical envelope tuning of the laser enables colour-free operation at 1.25 Gb/s with 100-GHz channel spacing.
