Possible ion—molecule reactions leading to NO+ formation have been investigated. It has been found that O++N2→NO++N,k1≈2.2×10−11 cm3 sec−1,N2++O2→NO++NO,k2≤2.1×10−13cm3sec−1,O2++N2→NO++NO,k5≤2.1×10−13cm3sec−1. Evidence has also been found for the following reaction of N+ ions N++O2→NO++O,k6≈1×10−10cm3sec−1,N++CO2→NO++CO,k7≈3×10−11cm3sec−1.
