Value Analysis and Research of Percussive Force Caused by Engineering Ships Berthing between Ships in Deep-water Channel

In order to analyze the flexible percussive force caused by the engineering ships mooring between ships in channel, it is very important to take measures to reduce the berthing influence of engineering ships. Relevant standards and documentation published by Chinese and foreign scholars have been studied, which deduces the percussive force formula of the mooring ships based on actual situation. In addition, a suitable percussive force formula of engineering ships is suggested for phase II 12.5 m deep-water channel project at the lower reach of the Yangtze River from Nanjing. Major factors which affect percussive force are obtained through the calculation of site conditions combined with the analysis results, and the measures to reduce the percussive force are put forward. Some restrictive conditions apply to the project construction and serves as references for similar project.
