Cognitive Style and Analytical Ability and Their Relationship to Competence in the Biological Sciences.

An investigation was carried out to examine cognitive factors which contribute to competence in the biological sciences. In a previous paper we discussed the various forms of spatial ability (Macnab and Johnstone, 1990). This paper is concerned with the role played by cognitive style and analytical ability.
