Joint parallel interference cancellation and power control for multi-antenna systems

Joint parallel interference cancellation (PIC) detection and power control scheme for multi-antenna systems is proposed in this paper. At the receiver, the Minimum Mean-Squared Error (MMSE) detector is utilized in the first stage, and its output is used to reconstruct the interference between antennas. Power control methods are proposed to help with the interference reconstruction at the receiver and the transmit power allocation at the transmitter end. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme provides a significant reduction in the bit error rate (BER) of a multi-antenna system, compared to that of conventional PIC with no power control1.
