The social nexus.

The article discusses the use of social media and online networks by city dwellers to promote the services and creativity of a city. A brief overview of the role of social networks in the Arab uprisings of 2011 is presented. Projects like LIVE Singapore and Senseable City Laboratory that used social media to communicate about the city are discussed. Tips for utilizing electronic devices of citizens to improve energy use, traffic problems, architecture, and infrastructure are included. It is suggested that city governments and companies should utilize social media to improve the city.
