INTERPRETATION OF WATER QUALITY DATA BY PRINCIPAL COMPONENTS ANALYSIS

A variety of methods are being used to display the information which is concealed in the quality variables observed in a water quality monitoring network. A large portion of these approaches are statistical methods. When the number of variables is greater than two, employment of multivariate analysis techniques gives simpler and more easily interpretable results for the evaluation of observed quality data. In this study, it was attempted to determine factors that caused variations in water quality at the Agackoy Monitoring station on the Porsuk Tributary in the Sakarya river-basin by principal components analysis.
