Turismo rural y empleo rural no agrícola en la Sierra Nororiente del estado de Puebla: caso red de Turismo Alternativo Totaltikpak, A.C.

The objective of study was to know the tourist resort that is used by the seven companies that make up the Alternative Tourism Network (RETA) “Totaltikpak, A.C.”, which operates in the Sierra Norte of the State of Puebla, and investigate whether rural tourism contributes to improving the income of the people involved in this activity. The tourism resources exploited by companies are: historical heritage, natural attractions, folklore and expressions of traditional culture. It also found that rural tourism contributes significantly to the annual income of people are linked to this activity. Also, even though for most cases the main benefit is economic, they also recognize personal benefits, social and environmental issues.
